History:

Started in April 2003, under the name Wake-UP Productions, we began posting short videos of wakeboarding and skateboarding on the internet. Shortly after, we started wakeskating and changed our name to Wake UP Films. The first posting under the Wake UP Films name was a short video featuring the Winch in September 2003.

Philosophy:

Wake UP Films believes that wakeskating should evolve in the direction the wakeskating community wishes and not be directed by any individuals, companies, or organizations. It is the average riders and enthusiasts that make this a great sport and will continue to determine it's direction. To Wake UP Films, the true heart of the sport is the unknown rider trying to do things no one else has tried, riding in frigid water, building a slider out of scraps, riding in a silly hat, introducing friends to the sport and watching them try to get up for the first time. That is not to say the pro riders and competitions are not an important part of the sport, they are. Wake UP Films intends to capture this as well. It is just that there is a lot more to this sport than what is typically portrayed and we realize that. It is our goal to bring to the wakeskating community the entire experience of the sport from the fun to the serious and everything in between.
